In far off Zanzibar ...

Paradise on a crescent beach of sherbet white sand. Domed pavilions straddle the ridge. Views filled with dreams of the spice routes. Exotic, exclusive, remote and relaxing. The name of this slice of heaven? Kilindi. Perhaps it's Swahili for perfect .........

Such elegance from such a tiny structure! I want to go spend a few days in that pool.

Tim, stop being an asshole. Just because there are poor outside of those walls doesn't mean this place still isn't beautiful. What you said is true, but you didn't need to say it. Is it like, impossible for you to let people enjoy the beauty of something without thinking of every single negative? Tim Hater was right about one thing, you are a prick.

Okay, so they have packages that start at around $3,800 per week, per person ... so, you know, if you want to take your sweetheart with ya, now it's going to cost $7,600. I know there are plenty of people out there where this kind of $$ is no issue, and well, I suppose if it is an issue for you, then, yeah, you might not opt to go this route. I mean, they "say" that the price is all-inclusive -- flight, transportation, room, board ... spa, too?? I realize there are a lot of costs that need to be covered, and like any good business, they're in it to make $$, but I'm not sure ... is it really justifiable to charge these kinds of prices? I know the demand is going to be there either way, I'm just asking ... not if the price is worth it ... but is it truly "justified?"

Wow! Not to be crass, but what's it cost to rent a pad like that. Eleventy zillion US I'll bet. But, yes, it's truly beautiful.

im sure the local poor appreciate this being there.

Oh Tim. You're so above it all - because you mingle with the natives. Anyone who just wants to get away for some beautiful solitude is obviously a rich snob. Pffft.

@anonymous, I also spent my childhood in Kenya and am now stuck in Canada. I miss Kenya so much!

Zanzibar is so beautiful, I've never been but I'll definitely be visiting soon!!

Beautiful Pictures <3
I agree with Holly Stoehner haha, it seems each site I browse that is aimed at giving you a positive feeling, always has someone voicing their unhappiness.
Interesting indeed. I guess I just made the list of people who do that. :( lmao
Beautiful place, I would read many many books laying on that little bed out in the sun. :)

What a beautiful photos. I wish I could stay there.

Tim, unless my eyes are deceiving me, there is an African person on the INSIDE of this paradise.

All of you self-hating Westerners...there is NOWHERE in the US or Canada you could stay that is this nice. The closest would be Hawaii, and you would still need money to stay in a place like this. Perhaps there are some places along the Mediterranean that are just as lovely, but again, you'd have to be rich.

Beautiful!

4 Nov 2010 | Unregistered Commenterkentucky

I'd rather be backpacking and seeing everything Zanzibar has to offer...than sitting in a posh hot tub bored out of my skull.

Tim, you shouldn't hate "westerners," some of us are at least half way decent.

Oh that just looks soooo incredible. It's definitely appealing that the locals are friendly; that can make or break a vacation. And the water is so blue....

4 Nov 2010 | Unregistered CommenterG&R

amaizng, still undiscovered country and extra expensive

8 Nov 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDiana

Holier than thou twat LMAO. Yes, the comments are definitely more appealing than the actual pictures.

Cheers
