Just a little teaser

One of our favourite interior designers Julia Edelmann of Buckingham ID (and mustn't forget one of the stylish Material Girls) sent me a little taste of her latest job. After 2 years working on this project it's time for the scouting shots. Julia apologises that they are rough but promises more when the true unveiling comes in a couple of months.

"I am soooo excited about this project. Amazing family, an historic preservation and restoration of an 1870’s Italianate Mansion in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago set on 5 city lots, green and self sustaining in many ways (up for LEED certification), full of Christian Liagre, Jeup, Droog, El Schmid, Kevin Reilly and many amazing items from the Holly Hunt showroom, Edelman leather, Mokum, Donghia, Lee Jofa and Kravet textiles and wall coverings, Ligne Roset, Saarinen, vintage Paul McCobb and Steelcase, Oly, BoConcept, Atelier Lapchi carpets, Bright Chair and amazing objects from my world travels and oh so many talented local commissioned artists ... Ahhhhhh ... a dream job. This family truly wishes to share their dream with the community at large to treasure our city's heritage." My head is spinning with the thought of all those names! Hurry up Julia. I can't wait. I need to see more. You are such a tease ;)

Love the brightness of the couch! Wish I had a home as historically important so that Buckingham ID could take over my house!

I love how it respects the history of the house (leaving the old banister), but then everything new is a departure and modern (the new railings).
