Latest shoe obsession

Lookout Jeffrey Campbell, I've got a new man in my life, and his name is John Fluevog. My love for John Fluevog shoes started many years ago when my twin sister and I used to visit our aunt in Toronto a couple times a year and she would take us shopping on Queen Street where I always insisted we check out the Fluevog store. Fluevog footwear is often fairly quirky, which is probably why I love them so much, as I am often drawn to anything a bit out of the ordinary. Their signature is a flared heel, and they seem to have a thing for button detailing too. I discovered a store right around the corner from my house that seems to be the only shop in Ottawa to carry them, but I haven't been there yet (maybe I'll spare a few minutes today). One of my favourite Canadian online shoe stores, Gravity Pope, also carries them. Anyhoo, after devouring the Fluevog website, I came across these beauties that I fell in love with...

Buy my stuff!!! - part 2

As I mentioned in this post yesterday, there's a garage sale going on here in Ottawa on Saturday and I'm really excited at the prospect of getting rid of some of my stuff. Here is a peek at more of what I'm willing to part with.

(DETAILS HERE.)

If anyone actually does want anything below (and more to come tomorrow) please email me @ desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.com as I can't cart all of this to my parents' house and I'm not really sure where some of this stuff is. And feel free to poke around my Flickr pics to see if there's anything else that may be of interest. And sorry but this is for locals only - no shipping.

Buy my stuff!!!

About a month ago my twin sister and I carted a crapload of stuff over to our parent's house and all of us had a big garage sale. It was a complete bust. Unfortunately my husband forgot to put up ads online so all we had were a few signs on the road. I think we sold $50. We're attempting another garage sale this Saturday from 8-2 so anyone in the Ottawa area MUST come out and BUY MY CRAP! I'm selling just about everything I own as I'm tired of it all and am going a completely different route whenever the house gets done and we can redecorate. (On a side note, here is a little sample of how disastrous this whole project has been going. We received an email yesterday morning, about 6 weeks after our plans were submitted to the city for permits, that because our house is approx. 100 ft from the highway, our project requires approval from the Ministry of Transportation. WTF?!?!) Alot of the items are still in my parents' garage, and I have a bunch of stuff buried in my basement that I also would part with. Here is a sampling...

Getting-ready-for-fall shopping spree

For the first time since probably high school my mom and my sisters went shopping together. My sisters and I have birthdays in August so my mom had suggested we all go downtown to the Rideau Centre and the Byward Market and shop till we drop. We finally did this yesterday, and only made it to about 4 stores in the Rideau Centre. My mom, being the best mom around, gave us each some cash and I went a little crazy (what a surprise). I thought I'd share with ya what I picked up.

One of our last stops was at Forever 21 - the day after the grand opening. What a ZOO. I was so tired by this time that I just wandered a bit with my sisters, grabbed a couple things and threw it in their bag, then went to hold a place in the ginourmous lineup at the cash. I managed to get 2 fluro tanks, a fluro striped shirt, a fluro tank and a stack of studded bracelets.

I was dying to get to Zara, as I always manage to find a few things when I shop there. Which I did once again. I picked up 2 fluro knit sweaters (I see a theme here), a beige knit sweater and a leopard print blouse.

I went a little nuts at Aritzia, one of my favourite stores. I picked up a few tops - a long cashmere blend striped sweater, a really soft grey cotton cardigan, and a pretty black lace camisole.

I also picked up 3 pairs of pants. A sort of gold colour pair of J Brand pencil leg cords, Citizens of Humanity (my FAV brand) Avedon low rise skinny jeans, and a dark blue pair of Citizens of Humanity Ava low rise straight leg pants.

Everything in the Gap was 30 or 40% off so I grabbed a few things in there too. A super soft light blue dress shirt, a short sleeved boxy sweater, a pair of nude flat pointy shoes and a jaguar print belt I forgot to photograph.

My mom stopped in at MAC to get some lipstick so I grabbed my foundation and a cool lustreglass lipgloss in a copper ("ornamental"). When I was waiting for everyone to show up at the mall I ran into BCBG and picked up this gold studded ring.

We had a blast. Since we didn't get to the Byward Market I hope we can plan another outing soon - but I might leave all my credit cards at home. :-)
