The Jielde, an industrial corner, and some cats

A couple of months ago I blogged the arrival of my new Jieldé, and I mentioned how it had a really shitty (non-original) base attached to it. My husband scored a 2008 Honda Civic front brake rotor from our mechanic friend for $20 and VOILÀ, my Jieldé is looking alot better. It still needs a new funky cloth cord, and I have to figure out what to do about all the copper showing through on the shade.

I love this industrial corner I have going on in the living room.
Lucky and Edgar were being adorable so I snapped some photos of them too.

Hi Kim-I'm just getting resettled but it's nice to catch up on what you have been finding/doing lately. I LOVE your lamp and wouldn't touch the patina ever. It's a great find.
J"adore cette lampe ; j'attends la mienne ! Beautiful pictures.
I wouldn't touch it! the copper coming thru is lovely and highlights the lamps age and authentic wear.
@merlin513 - what you can't see is the huge splotch of sanded off silver on the other side. not so lovely.
Brilliant.
I'm fond of beat-to-crap items so it probably wouldn't bother me in the least! :D
My friends are always asking me, 'why are you picking that up/buying that? it's hideous!'
I guess I like giving ugly/lost/discarded things a home...
A little off topic, but your cat in the last picture is so pretty. What is the breed?
That's Edgar. I'm pretty sure he's a mutt. He showed up in my yard one day and was obviously a stray (but he'd been previously owned because he had been neutered). I've never seen a cat like him before. His fur is super fluffy, his legs are ridiculously long, and his face is sort of half human/half wolf. You can see more photos of him here and here
