Hello yellow
I was searching through thousands of photos looking for a little sunshine yellow inspiration for a project I'm cooking up when I came upon this room by Robert Passal. Kim featured him way back here. (Have we really been blogging that long?) Love the yellow, the vintage portraits and the quirky accessories. I just want to curl up in that tufted green dream of a chair and ponder where on earth did those hoofed ottomans come from! Anyway just had to share.
My sudden love for yellow
I have noticed lately that I'm drawn to the colour yellow. I think it has to do with how much I love summer and yellow is such a beautiful summery colour. So I figured I'd do a post on different uses and ranges of yellow. Since I have basically no yellow in my home, this post is inspiration to change that.
Pale yellow walls are so warm and inviting, and would brighten up any room without being too jarring.

One of my favourite shades is acid yellow, for those who are a bit more daring and enjoy bold colours.

Bright yellow walls will bring a smile to anyone's face but would be tough to decorate (and live) with.

A yellow (and turquoise) country-style kitchen would have everyone milling around while food is prepared.

Retro yellow
I bought a great book today from my friend's retro store. I'm a sucker for 60s and 70s interior books. "How to Make your Windows Beautiful" A Kirsch Publication Vol IV 1972. Seeing that yellow has been a favourite around here I thought I'd share a few images from this treasure.
If you really really need a copy there is one here.
