Sunshine yellow

Combine a wall of bright yellow framed windows, an expansive view of a leafy green canopy and abundant light and this apartment renovation by São Paulo based AR ARQUITETOS would brighten anyone's day. A clever "wall of cubes" allows the light to penetrate further into the kitchen while providing much needed storage without heavy walls closing in the otherwise open plan public spaces. Living here would be sunshine yellow everyday!

An eclectic Parisian apartment

Jo spread the love for French interior designer Joséphine Gintzburger a few times in the past (here, here and here) and I came across another one of her projects - an eclectic apartment in Le Marais. Only in this setting could a yellow chintzy floral sofa set actually look cute. Throw in a sleek red countertop, chandeliers, a turquoise Smeg and shower right next to the bed and you've got another quirky Joséphine space.

Next from Nexus Designs

You loved yesterday's sunny family beach house so much that I thought it was time for another stunning interior by Nexus Designs. A modern design within an historic Victorian era shell. The best of both worlds. White, bright with a clear clean colour palette. The project is named "Tic Tac Toe". Look up. You may just see why.

Touch of gold

For the longest time I hated gold. I would not wear gold jewelry, would never put it anywhere in my home...I though it was tacky and preferred silver/stainless steel. Over the years it has slowly grown on me and now I find myself happily wearing gold jewelry (even the pieces I got as a kid from my Italian relatives for religious events), I LOVE pendants with the underside in gold leaf, gold faucets, and I even asked for gold cutlery for Christmas. I love this Piso Barrio Gótico, Barcelona by interior designer María Lladó. It's just he right amount of gold and deep yellow that adds a decadent, slightly exotic feel.

Sarah Lavoine encore

Here is another breathtaking project designed by interior designer Sarah Lavoine. It is pretty obvious that this Parisian apartment is the home of an art collector. Most people who design spaces for art collectors leave the walls white. NOT SARAH! She used teal, bright yellow and black - all perfectly suited for the spaces and the artwork they hold. Jaw-dropping results once again.
