Laura Alvarez

Minimalist 2 storey apartment space within a heritage building in Amsterdam. Clean lines, sharp angles, limited colour palette and smooth surfaces. Warmed by wood elements. A steel staircase angles between the levels separating the dining and living spaces in the open plan first floor. But the hero of the space is fully equipped (albeit minimalist lined) kitchen centre stage. Design by Laura Alvarez Architecture.

Kitchen

Just had to share one more from Feldman Architecture. I loved the kitchen in the Old Bernal House in my previous post and I really like this one too. It's in a 1950's ranch house in the SF area and stays true to the original home. Actually I'm taken by a lot of their kitchen designs. (I know you will be too when you click on over to their website.) Light, bright, contemporary and not at all MacMansion. Understated, sensitive, practical and stylish.

R. Brad Knipstein part 1

White wash beauty. The home of stylist Rosy Strazzeri-Fridman captured through the lens of photographer R. Brad Knipstein. Ivory with whites, washed out with natural, old and new, always precious, always loved and brought to life by Rosy and beautifully conveyed by Brad. Portraits of treasures and landscapes of the well loved.

I Love Architecture

Too cool! This apartment design in Amsterdam is by I Love Architecture and what's not to love. Open plan, white space anchored by substantial timber benches and a wall of kitchen storage. Yellow pendants pop from above punctuating the open space and defining areas. Cave like black tile is used to delineate the ensuite while white stairs levitate up to a rooftop chill out space. Apartment Weteringschans by I Love Architecture.

Today's dose of Sweden

You know how much we love Swedish interiors here at desire to inspire. So how about another one to get you through hump day. My sister found this one for me on Stadshem. It may be a bit too white for some folks (me included - seems like they at least some art on the walls) but I love the subtle hint of red here and there (ok, that leather couch isn't so subtle, and I must add that I've never seen a leather couch in that shade of red before...and I almost like it).
