Nantucket dreaming

From its dark panelled public areas and quirky maritime touches to its light and breezy bedrooms with layered bed linens from John Robshaw and Les Indiennes, Greydon House on the island of Nantuket off Cape Cod  is the perfect virtual getaway for this hump day Wednesday. I'm fantasizing about strolling through the boutique shops in the morning followed by a long beach walk, warming up by a crackling fire with a drink and a dog eared book before by a fabulous dinner in the restaurant. With interiors by Roman and Williams I don't think I want to wake up from this lovely daydream.

No OTT gaudy glitz but a well considered elegance. Historic Nashville mansion renovation by interiors firm Chad James Group.

Sinuous and sexy

With a spiral staircase wraps its way upwards like a snake coiling languidly this NYC apartment is seriously sexy. Let's add a third "S" - subtle. The luxury level is high and there are certainly touches of bling but it's pared back, restrained. I love this look. I'm not quite sure what to call it though. It's a definite reference to the 80s in its materials and shapes with a watered down colour palette of that decade's greys and pinks. Like the 80s with a really good IG filter. Then there are hints of Art Deco and mid century. Definitely my new design style crush by Michelle Gerson Interiors.

Spaces by Matthew Cane

Charming, polished, refreshing, energetic, casual, lasting....these are just a few words I would use to describe the style of New York based designer Matthew Cane.
