Quintessentially English

Close your eyes and try to imagine your idea of the quintessentially English country home. Mine has boot rooms and sculleries, flagstones and wood burners, antiques and quirky family treasures. There are bedrooms under the eaves, beams and hopefully a roll top bath. Of course there would be a big kitchen diner with room for a sofa or two and a snug for those chilly nights. The thing is I don't have to close my eyes. I just have to drink in these photos of The Stables by hám interiors. Can't get much more English ... oh maybe a chocolate labrador lying by the fire.

I was poking around Stan's portfolio the other day and was mesmerized by many more of his projects so I thought I would share some that I really love. This is all soooo beautiful - classic architecture with an understated, simple aesthetic with subtle modern influences.

Classic beauty

I am really starting to admire spaces that are traditional, classic beauties. These stunning examples were photographed by Belgium based photographer Claude Smekens and he has captured their elegance perfectly.
