Traditional with ocean-course views

I came across this generously sized home recently and it is allllll kinds of pretty! Designed by Alabama based interior designer Tammy Connor, this is a beautifully refined take on traditional/transitional/whatever you want to call this. I'd like to call it warm and inviting, carefully curated and picture perfect. I would frankly be quite content with just the kitchen. That tile is glorious. (Another project can be found here) P.S. I'm a bit short on pet entries this week. If you have some send them my way: kim[@]desiretoinspire[.]net, or hashtag #DTIpetsonfurniture.

More kitchen love

Love the cabinets and the pantry. Love the old fashioned look of the electric range and the new fangled fridge. Love the beams and the wide floor boards. I love the traditional feel and the modern convenience. It's even in a thatched cottage. Swoon. My love affair with English country style kitchens continues. This lovely room is by Robert and Tamsin Allen of Fawn Interior Design Studio.

Hex Cottage at Wilderness Reserve

I could not resist sharing just one more property available at Wilderness Reserve....because look how cute this cottage is!!! What a perfect setting for a little romantic honeymoon getaway. A dreamy thatched former forester's cottage for two, electricity-free, candlelit and set in woods overlooking its own meadow. In Hex Cottage, built in the Regency 'cottage orné' (or decorated cottage) style, an Esse wood-burning range in the kitchen provides all the hot water and heating, though there are open fires in the sitting room and bedroom. In the kitchen, think original bread ovens, brick floors and butler sinks. Swing open the door to discover your own herb garden, store for the all-important logs and wilderness beyond. In the bedroom, candles and a fairy-tale canopy above the king-size Hypnos bed set the scene.

An English manor farm

I am crushing on this quintessentially English manor farm in Norfolk, U.K., home to interior designer Carlos GarciaWhile quite traditional it has elements that are a bit more eclectic and less country than you would expect. A bench painted matt black, pale blue walls, Eastern fabrics such as suzani and ikat....all make this very intriguing.

Michael G. Imber and modern classical design

Michael G. Imber, Architects is a modern classical design firm based in San Antonio, TX and San Francisco, CA. This talented crew promotes an American architecture reflective of its cultural history and modern lifestyles. Again appealing to my sudden fascination with more classical design. I am absolutely smitten with the space above. Such a cozy spot to relax on a warm summer day. And then to take a dip in the pool below...
