Ministerstwo Spraw We Wnętrzach

Marcin and Magda Konopka are the duo behind Ministerstwo Spraw We Wnętrzach (Ministry of Interior Affairs) based in Gdansk, Poland. This is one of their projects - Grand Oak House, where beautiful and warm oak played a central role. Nods towards nature including forest and wheat murals and earthy colours mixed with grey warm up the modern architectural elements of concrete and steel. Gorgeous.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday dear readers! It has been a long work week and I am so grateful the weekend is upon us! But my work never seems to end. Tonight I will be helping the husband set up his booth at this year's Etsy Made in Canada show here in Ottawa taking place Saturday and Sunday which all you Ottawans should come out to because it's the biggest crafty show of the year! And maybe buy a vintage radio converted into a Bluetooth speaker. ;) (Or at least stop by and entertain me for a few minutes.) Anyhoo, there goes my weekend. But before I go I leave you with a couple of spaces I came across lately that I cannot get out of my head. There's nothing spectacular about them but for some reason I am drawn to their random eclecticism. Because I love me some random decor.

Drama and pattern

Drama, glamour and pattern play. Three essential ingredients in any scheme by interior design maestro Greg Natale. Sydney-based Natale's redesign of this historic Geelong house, situated on an equine estate, sees him weave his magic with dark, moody colours, geometric riffs and a repeating horse motif. But it's not the grand rooms I'm concentrating on in this post. It's his bathrooms and kitchen that have my mind spinning with ideas. I'm smitten by the powder room. Love. Don't miss the rest of the house over on his website and if you love his work as much as we have here on Desire to Inspire over the years you simply can't miss his book The Tailored Interior.

An elegant bathroom

The folks of Minosa Design have gone and done it again. They sent us photos of one of their latest projects and as always, I am wishing to gawd I had the time and energy to redo my super annoying no-counter-space-whatsoever and no-outlet bathroom. Between that tub, the marble, the Gubi Adnet mirror and all that space I am dying right now. Minosa's attention to detail is impeccable. AH this is SO GOOD! A renovated apartment in Paris

I love European architecture and the wonderful classic apartments that I come across when doing blog research. This simple, modern 60m² apartment renovation in the eleventh arrondissement of Paris by Septembre Architecture pushes all the right buttons. Some marble and custom cabinetry in the kitchen, some brass and hex tiles in the bathroom, glass doors and beautiful moldings. The rooms of the apartment are aligned to optimize the circulation and create a visual continuity. The suite of spaces seems to extend to infinity with a large mirror at the back of the apartment. Each room has a specific floor treatment, weaving a true Jacquard weave between wooden floors, painted wooden floors, hexagonal mosaic and polished concrete.
