Visual Oxygen

All things beautiful and inspiring. Rooms and objects, art and photos. Belviana used that wonderful phrase "visual oxygen" when she emailed to tell us what Desire to Inspire meant to her. We blush, mumble "aw shucks" and borrow/steal the phrase for a semi-regular series of beautiful images that inspire us. They don't have to be rooms. They just have to lift our spirit and feed our imagination.

Megan Morton has been a great friend of the blog sending us images of her work as one of Australia's leading stylists. So when an email from Megan landed in my inbox with some of her latest work I knew it would contain something special. Megan collaborated with Benja Harney from Paperform to create these for Australia Travel and Leisure.

Selina Lake updates

One of my favourite books of all time is stylist Selina Lake's Bazaar Style. It is so inspirational and I've flipped through it AT LEAST a dozen times. If you don't own it, do yourself a favour and as soon as you see the photos below from her updated portfolio on her website, go out and buy it. Treat yourself. I dare ya. Thanks Selina for the heads up. FABULOUS, as usual.

NYC apartment tour

Over a year ago artist, stylist and designer Amy Beth Cupp Dragoo of ABCD Design emailed us with some photos of her home that her and her husband were renovating. We were happy to post them, and to my delight, she emailed photos yesterday of the completed renovation! To quote ABCD: "now that the renovation is complete, we are moving on to a new project". HUH??? When you see the photos below of this phenomenal NYC apartment, you too will be asking how she could possibly leave this. There's nothing I don't love about her home. It's an eclectic mix of styles that works so well together, bold use of colour throughout that stands out against the white walls, the dramatic artwork, those to-die-for hardwood floors, and don't get me started on that kitchen and bathroom (I'm pretty sure I had a dream recently about that exact bathroom). Thanks for sharing these with us ABCD!

This is the great room (*sigh*...a great room would be really great) where ABCD works, and she and her husband Scott live in the back section.

I love her home so much that I wanted to include more photos that she took over the holidays that show other angles of the spaces. Just more eye candy. DELISH.

Genevieve Wiseman

Genevieve Wiseman is a prop stylist from Toronto who has worked for some of my favourite Canadian magazines like House & Home and Style at Home, and has worked with several photographers we've featured. She was kind enough to send over some more photos than she currently has on her website. So pretty, and so beautifully styled. Lovely Genevieve!
