A gorgeous Spanish home

I have just a quick post for you all today as I am trying to enjoy a gorgeous warm and sunny weekend. I spent yesterday at my sister's cottage and today I've got some yard work, spray painting (my shoe shelves need another coat of sealant as many of my shoes ended up with random neon pink marks) and other random chores to get through - anything I can think of to do outdoors. I saw this home on Nuevo Estilo and fell in love. It's my favourite scenario - and old home that has been renovated and brought to life with mostly contemporary decor. It's extra special as it's located on the stunning island of Mallorca, in the Mediterranean Sea. Oh, and it's available for rent as a vacation home here

Garden of dreams

We received an intriguing submission recently from Veronica that I wanted to share. Here are some pictures about my last interior design project at Casa Decor Madrid, the most important event about interior design in Spain. Garden of dreams (Jardin de los sueños) is the name of my space. An interior garden at Casa Decor Madrid. I wanted to create an space to relax, feel and remember our experiences, a place where our emotions meet together, a place to lay or to fly. The interior is design with natural materials (linen, wood, anea and wool). All furniture, illumination, ceramics and sofa are designed by Veronica Martinez too, all inspired by nature and handmade by artisans. I think it's beautiful and very creative. I love the grouping of frames on the corner, and the strips of wood and fabric acorss the ceilings and walls are really pretty. I would love to hang out in there for hours in silence and read a good book. *sigh*

Mixing it up

I'm trying to decompress this long weekend, and enjoy some time not glued to my computer screen like I usually am. Yesterday I spent the day at my sister's cottage and we plan on doing the same Monday. Today is going to be filled with chores and errands (including hopefully the pick-up of a table I selected as payment from an advertiser - can't wait!) and finishing the painting of shelving I took from the cottage last weekend that I was thinking would be awesome shoe storage in my dressing room. Photos to come on both of those eventually. Needless to say I didn't have much time to get something ready for today and because I don't want to leave you guys with a post-less Sunday, how about a cool apartment in Madrid I found at Nuevo Estilo. It was built in 1914 and renovated by architect Borja Puras Vázquez de Prada. I love how the details from that period were maintained and the eclectic mix of old-world and modern furnishings creates such a unique, refreshing look.

Take me away

I could really use a break from the chaos of everyday, and when I came across this home captured by one of my all-time favourite photographers Jordi Canosa I was momentarily transported to a gorgeous villa in Barcelona. A place where wonderful memories could be made and relaxation is essential - how could you not feel at ease in a place like this?

Enrique Menossi part 2

Having overdosed on the rustic beauty of Spanish homes captured through the lens of Enrique Menossi in the previous post, it's time to move to something a little darker, richer, more sophisticated. Or how about a vibrant taste of urban colour?. Just as inspiring, just as beautiful. The man is a master of his craft.

P.S. And just in case it is all too darkly sophisticated for you I have lightened it with one more all white wonder.
