le souk

Danielle de Lange, a fellow blogger of the fabulous the style files, recently opened an online store called le souk, filled with incredible, drool-worthy items. Not only is her store fab, but she is donating 5% of the profits to Women for Women, an organisation that helps women in war-torn regions rebuild their lives by providing them with job skills training, rights education, access to capital, assistance in small business development and financial and emotional support. So go on over and check it out. Here's a sneak peak of some of my favourites.

Amor e locura

I thought I would share another stylish and unusual Australian store. I have a love of vintage and the found. amor e locura, "love and madness" imports the faded beauty of Argentina to the boho streets of Fitzroy Melbourne. Architectural antiques, furniture and collectibles .... love the grandeur, love the sadness, love the reuse, love the name.

Hermon & Hermon

There is a "look" in Australia, one that is instantly recognisable, one that brings a certain name to mind ..... Hermon & Hermon. This iconic Melbourne design mecca has since 1967 been synonymous with natural fibres, stripped back furniture and covetable homewares. Sourced from around the world there is an ethnic vibe but in a natural pared back way. The unusual and the beautiful sit side by side.

Porters Paints do wallpaper

Thought I’d share these gorgeous wallpapers from Porters Paints. Known in Australia for their range of paints from lime washes and milk paints to distempers and traditional paint finishes to premium quality acrylic paints. The range is very small at present but I’m loving the thistle pattern and the cute as cute passion flower stripe. Find out more information about Porters Paints and wallpapers here.

Furniture Seen

Anita, the general manager of LA Furniture Seen sent us a link to their website. Lots of room porn with interiors by various designers who have used their classic furniture. Key pieces are named and linked to their product catalogue as well as links to the designers. Clever idea for a furniture retailer's site. Thanks for the link Anita!
