North London's Mark Lewis Interior Design creates some of the most beautiful Euro-style rustic kitchens I have ever seen. Forget sleek and modern when you can have reclaimed wood, carrera marble, big old farmhouse sinks and funky faucets made of copper pipe. I adore each and every one of these. (And Jo featured another one a while ago)
I could not help but think of my upcoming trip when I spotted this ranch the other day. Located in Bernal, New Mexico with views of Starvation Peak, it is quintessentially southwestern. It is a new build, designed by Caroline Dooley, and made to appear over 100 years old. The wood flooring is to die for with those colour variations, and the beamed ceilings are a fabulous rustic touch. Like the home I featured earlier, this too would make a superb vacation spot.
Country to contemporary, traditional to modern, Harriet Anstruther Studio can do it all, and the resulting spaces are the most calming, inviting and timeless you can imagine. Each and every one of these rooms draws you in and I would be completely at ease and at peace in all of them.
There is nothing I like more than a mixture of rustic and modern styles....so I am totally enamoured with this 112 year old renovated home in Toronto featured at Style At Home. Purchased by designer Paula Velez two years ago, the 2800 sq ft home endured a 9 month renovation that included some demolition of walls, the top floor gutted to create a master suite, a ridiculously fabulous kitchen renovation and much more. This home has it all.
