A second look

I get excited when I come across photos of a home we have featured, but a different rendition. It's interesting to see how homes evolve with with time. This is the home of Spanish decorator Serge Castella, that Jo featured back in 2012. This time around it is more grey than brown, and a bit darker overall. I think I prefer this version, as I am a sucker for grey and black.

A weekend home in Burgundy

I am completely infatuated with this home in Burgundy, France. It is the weekend getaway for interior designer Clarisse Prudent and her family, and was completely renovated over the span of 15 months. It is a gem, with concrete floors, very basic architecture, lots of windows, lofty on the top floor and filled with lots of vintage pieces paired with a few classics. My favourite touch - the photographic artwork. Via The Socialite Family.

A barn conversion in Washington

I am always up for a good conversion, and this one is GOOD. The work of SHED Architecture & Design, this barn located in Whidbey Island, WA was outfitted with a workroom/kitchen, an apartment, a bunkroom and bathrooms. Some skylights., dormers and bay windows were added, and re-use of existing barn materials - original barn siding for interior paneling, re-milling of salvaged floor joists for stair material, trim and countertops. The exterior was then wrapped in new cedar board and batten. The result is the coziest, rustic getaway.

Happy Friday!

I was only going to use these first 2 photos for this post because OMG...but this Sicilan vacation home of architect Laurent Buttazzoni is so fun I had to include a few more. Via Architectural Digest France. Happy Friday! Peace out.

Country rustic

This home is heaven. Weathered, textured, treasured, patinaed...it is rustic and worn and magical. Via Homelife (Photos: Mark Roper, Styling: Tessa Kavanagh)
