Clifton Beach

Beachside living has never been so glamorous. ANTONI ASSOCIATES, the Interior Design and Décor division of the South African architectural firm SAOTA, have created a white and white interior that is sophisticated and luxurious with classically elegant overtones yet breaks out to an amazing al fresco entertaining area that is the signature of both these firms. A glass walled double void connects the upper and lower flows while providing a stunning backdrop to the study's fireplace. White hot elegance on a hot white beach.

Stalking for hours

Hooray! Squarespace is working again. For a few hours there I watched a circle go round and round and round while the blog didn't load. Not anymore. It's time to stalk a modern home in Kew, Melbourne. I've been stalking it for hours ... and hours ... and hours. Now it's your turn. A little bit brutalist with hard concrete surfaces but softened with rugs and art and furniture. Soaring ceilings and cosy spots. Love the backyard too. Once again a great campaign by the real estate agents Marshall White including a video that sells the house even better than the photos. Link here while it lasts.

Arthur Casas

An overdose of exceptional architecture with today's firm. São Paulo and New York based Studio Arthur Casas draws inspiration from Brazil's history of modernist design, takes a considered approach to the environment and a holistic approach to the many layers of their designs from furniture to urban planning. It's cosmopolitan, contemporary and just a little sexy. It was hard to narrow down which of the projects to feature. Finally I chose the Qunita Da Baroness house in São Paulo. I think you will understand why.

Stalking inside and out

I'm stalking another clever extension to an older house this time in Randwick, Sydney. With not much backyard left after extending the living spaces the new design opens to the cleverly laid out garden area. The hero piece of this small garden is the pool with its cool glass wall. Equally the stacking glass walls are a stand out allowing a seamless flow from lounging inside to alfresco dining and there is even a small patch of grass (for dog or child or mower freak). Talk about packing it all in! Link here while it lasts.
