Not your average West Village townhouse

After blogging about interior design for almost 8 years and seeing alot of "trends" and repetitive styles, I love stumbling upon a project that is creative, original and eclectic. This West Village townhouse designed by Danielle Fennoy and Cece Stelljes of Revamp Interior Design is anything but trendy. It is quirky and unexpected and that loungey purple-ish sectional sofa is maybe one of the coolest I have ever seen (I am obsessed with movie-watching comfy sectionals)...and HELLO POOL!!!!

Stalking an Australian icon

You may be impressed by the contemporary extension and renovation of this 1908 brick house by SJB. I'm impressed by the renovation of that great Australian icon, the outdoor toilet, the relic of a time before sewerage, the dunny. So many have been demolished or left to decay as inadequate and forgotten "tool sheds". I think this one is the first 5 star dunny I have seen. I'm stalking Aussie icons in Balmain, Sydney. Link here while it lasts.

Stalking a repeat in Yarraville

You may think you've seen this house before ... and you have but from the architect's portfolio not through the lens of a real estate photographer. Funny how things don't look quite so perfect. The everyday creeps in like wrinkles in the sheets and furniture layouts in long shots that don't quite look as good as a close cropped image. Hell who am I kidding. This house is pretty darn perfect regardless of differences in photos. I'm stalking the Yarraville House by Techné . Link here while it lasts. (Thanks Andrea!)

William Hefner

Studio William Hefner has a holistic vision. Architecture, interiors and landscape are considered as they relate to one another. The house is designed from the outside in and out again. Liveable, stylish and classic with attention to the luxury touches. I love the restrained palette and light, open feel to the rooms in this Rustic Canyon Residence. The attention to detail is so beautiful.

Stalking old and new in Kew

Classic and contemporary. Old and new. Dark and light. High, high, high and a touch of low. (Is that an IKEA rug I spy in the study?) I'm not sure if this one has been styled down, pared back for the photo shoot or not. I love the steel doors in the old part of the house and the sleek lines of the modern extension when viewed against the Edwardian gingerbread cottage lines of the old. Stalking old and new in Melbourne. Link here while it lasts.
