The elephant in the room

Or should that be the skeleton on the ceiling? It may be the deal breaker if you want to come on my virtual getaway to this loft style apartment in Tribeca, New York which ticks all the boxes. Exposed brick walls, light streaming in the the tall windows, a mini jungle, curios on industrial style shelves, great kitchen ... and the skeleton above the dining table. I've been staring at it for ages trying to work out what the model is actually of. Ichthyosaur? Prehistoric razor toothed dolphin? A cousin of the Loch Ness Monster? Living in the jungle

Over the years Kim and I have been fascinated by the homes of Sera Hersham-Loftus or should I say the reinvention of her homes. The queen of the boudoir look with its seductive, glamorous and over-the-top trappings is also the queen of the quick change, of reinvigorating her glorious spaces. Kim last featured her house a year ago but when I recently visited the Sera of London website, voila, her house had evolved into a glamazon jungle with the addition of even more houseplants than her usual parlour palms. It's spring, only it's inside. I love the look but can you imagine watering day?!

For the love of plants...and anything green

Happy Easter everyone! This holiday weekend for some of us signifies spring and welcoming warmer weather and some green outside. I found this location home on jj Locations and thought this was the perfect time to share it. Apparently someone loves plants even more than I do. This home is filled with them and it is absolutely beautiful with tons of artwork and accents of green to bring it all together into a cohesive spring-y vibe. I adore every bit of this Victorian house - it gives off so much positive energy. I think I'll move into the kitchen.

Saturday night. What to do, where to go. Grab your coat and your appetite and meet me at Transformer Fitzroy, Melbourne by Breathe Architecture. Love the inner city industrial meets greenhouse trellis vibe of this former electrical transformer warehouse now vegetarian restaurant. Exposed brick, board formed concrete and chainlink fencing softened by pools of light and tumbling vines.
