Pale pink walls

I have been wondering for months what to do with my dining room. Dark? Bright? Wallpaper? I don't have very good recent photos because I hate the room - this one is the most recent that shows a decent amount of the space. (The floors are now stained grey!)  Nothing has really stood out until I suddenly started thinking about pale pink. Then I started thinking about pale pink with dark grey trim. Then I started getting very excited. I am pretty sure pale pink is the route I want to take with the walls (trim will probably just be the same colour or a shade darker so it's not too choppy, and the doors maybe the black blue of the foyer...and not sure about the ceiling). I have been eyeballing Farrow & Ball's Pink Ground, Setting Plaster and Calamine. I think Pink Ground on walls and Setting Plaster on trim could be really gorgeous. I have sent a request for samples so those are on the way. In the meantime, I went looking for inspiration and found all kinds of pretty pinks. And based on the first 2 photos, I think I need heavy velvet burgundy drapes.

Yvonne Koné's shop (Farrow & Ball's Pink Ground) LOOOVE THIS!!! So pretty with grey floors - mine are a couple of shades darker than this.

Happy Friday!

Finally a break from craft & antique shows this weekend. I cannot wait for Thanksgiving dinner with the family, some movies with the husband and the cat herd, and unfortunately, getting ready for winter (BOO!!!). Hope you all have a fabulous weekend. To get things started, here are a couple of photos that had me mesmerized over on KK Living

Foyers with painted wainscoting/wood paneling

Some of you may not believe this, but after reviewing everything I thought I had decided on for the flooring on my main floor, I made another decision. Brace yourselves.....I AM GOING TO PAINT OUT MY MAHOGANY WAINSCOTING! (You can revisit that awfulness in this post) I realized that if I am going to redo all of this flooring that I am totally unhappy with, how can I keep this mahogany that I really REALLY don't like? It will be a big job that I can hopefully hire someone to take care of so I do not end up in the mental hospital down the road, and I have not yet come up with a plan for the colour. I figure I will deal with re-staining the floor, see what the result of that is, and then find something that works with it and the Farrow & Ball lotus wallpaper I am dying to use for the upper parts of the wall. So on this note, I thought I would share some photos of foyers with painted out wainscoting and wood paneling that I came across while doing a little research. (Dear gawd, what have I gotten myself into!)

Happy Friday!

I desperately want to throw some black paint on something. Photo by Debi Treloar for the book Handmade Home by Mark & Sally Bailey.

P.S. I published a post on my page yesterday mostly about some of my latest decor aquisitions. Feel free to have a peek. And Happy Friday!!!

Noteworthy from Cloth & Kind

I adore this laundry room - particularly the sink set-up and the light fixture. *drool*

Afriad to go with dark walls? Why not give it a try on the trim instead? Talk about a bold, graphic statement!

Kitchen island waterfall action.

Best blue

This wallpaper is beautiful. Would be amazing with navy glossy trim. Hex tile floor is a bonus.
