Dan Davis

Dan Davis sent us an email recently about his new interior design firm. Dan is from Michigan and had been a creative director in advertising for some time and within the last year decided to take on interior design full time. (I am so envious of his courage to switch professions). His firm does it all, including landscapes, special event planning, and they have a gorgeous line of shell-encrusted furniture and accessories. I love their aesthetic - bold (they love rich colours), eclectic and they clearly personalize each space.

Secret Gardens

Scattered throughout Sydney are these beautiful oases in an urban landscape. Secret Gardens is a holistic landscape design team founded by Matthew Cantwell. Beautiful inspirational gardens whether a sprawling garden or a small inner city courtyard.

P.S A link finally for the reader (whose email I inadvertently deleted) who wanted to know the name and source of the white sunlounge in the first photo after it featured in a Noosa post.

Alfresco finesse

Beardsley Weiss are an exceptional multidisciplinary design firm. Their work embraces architecture, interior design, product and furniture design as well as landscape design. I thought that as it's cold and miserable in the Northern Hemisphere I'd feature these amazing alfresco pavilions and their beautiful landscaping. Just a taste of Beardsley Weiss' outstanding portfolio. (Only a few more months of winter left!)

Roof top oasis

Andrew O'Sullivan, Australian landscape designer created this lush Balinese inspired garden on a roof terrace. Inside and out meld seamlessly. Andrew's design philosophy is PEACE - Practical, Environmental, Attractive, Cost effective, Educational. He's well known for his use of salvaged plants and materials, something he has put into practice in this design. Another great example of sustainability and environmental awareness on the personal level.
