You can't get much closer to Sydney's CBD than Darlinghurst and That's where I'm stalking today. This is a suburb for the the über cool urbanites and those with deep pockets and I've found them the perfect apartment. No cookie cutter, slap dash, throw it up quick developer's "dream". There's nothing mass produced about the layout and the materials. I'm loving the kitchen and the master bedroom. You? Link here while it lasts.
Roger + Chris renovated a 160 year old Italianate Victorian home in Sharon Springs, NY and now call it the Grey House. This might just be one of the best renovations I have ever seen! The exterior is blowing my mind. I love a dark painted house. So dramatic! Also loving that they documented all of the projects on their site with before photos too so I included some so you get the full effect of the work that went into this transformation.
A magical house in a magical spot in the magical land of New Zealand. Pardon me if I stay on the deck while you pop over to LTD Architectural Design Studio to see the rest of the house. Such a clever transformation from deck to dining to twin tubs for twin soaking ... soaking in the water and soaking in the view. (I'm assuming the tubs are hand or hose filled with simple drainage of the grey water into the garden. Now where can I incorporate this into my house?)
Sometimes I look at a home and my first thought isn't "oh it's beautiful," not even a simple "wow". No sometimes my green eyed monster stirs and I mutter "lucky bastards". Facade, pool and terrace on Shelter Island by New York-based Andre Tchelistcheff Architects.
