Not only do they look great but they help control temperature and light within the house. What am I talking about? Why the screens that clad this reworked extension to a heritage house in Melbourne by Wolveridge Architects.A contemporary extension with heritage overlays. It's what Australian architects excel at.
Did you get the memo? Tuesday is cancelled. No work, no family responsibilities, no problem! Instead we are meeting up for drinks by the pool at the Gravity hotel in Bali. Maybe they'll cancel Wednesday and Thursday as well.
After a dry, dry winter the rains have come and my garden has sprung to back to life with new growth and a flush of flowers but oh how I wish this Melbourne garden by Ben Scott Garden Design was mine! A more structured garden with alfresco entertaining space, fireplace and kitchen garden completes the space.
An apartment perched on the rooftop of an old factory in Sydney's inner-city suburb of Redfern, a modern oasis a hand's stretch away from the CBD. While the apartment is stunning and so are the views, it's the outdoor spaces that are the true luxury. As the designers SJB describe it it's "a garden that you happened to live in, rather than an apartment surrounded by greenery." And why did I call this post "Oh Mama"? Yes I love the apartment and its garden but my heart belongs to the Big Mama chair.
