Tree house

Magical. Playful. Sophisticated yet childlike. What a joy it would be to live in this Paris loft by interior architect Grégoire De Lafforest. From the pine tree in the living area to the hothouse in the kitchen, sorry the kitchen in the hothouse the loft is whimsical like a modern fairytale.

Up

Up under the eaves sits an urban pad just right for inner city single's living. Light streams into this warehouse conversion, bouncing off white walls and polished concrete floor. Small but not too bijou for entertaining with a weighted wall of glass and steel that opens up to the outdoor courtyard. Add a little of your own personality and you'll have a stylish inner city base. Close to the action but safe and sound up under those aeves . Link here while it lasts.

There are so many fun features - the hilarious bear rug, a hammock, a tree growing out of the wall, the moody blue bedroom nook, the plant boxes and bicycle art in the kitchen...it's simply a really quirky and playful place to hang out. My one issue is the few inches of rock on the outer edges of the walls - that's sort of odd and wouldn't be very fun to keep clean. And you best get along with your partner. :)

Purple perfection

That late afternoon light in the mountains. Those purples and dusky blues as the golden sun dips low over eucalypt forests. The owner of this TriBeCa loft, by stellar Australian firm Nexus Designs, chose a colour palette inspired by Australia's Blue Mountains. Absolute perfection. But then you wouldn't expect anything less from Nexus Designs.
