Damien Langlois-Meurinne

I regret not titling this post "Lighting porn" as these spaces by French designer Damien Langlois-Meurrine are outfitted with some of the most spectacular lights I have ever seen. And some of them are designed by Damien himself. These rooms are glamorous and luxe, but the lighting takes them to another level. They are pieces of art, making a statement.

Calm

Oh I need a little calm in my life at the moment. Frantic is the word that best describes my work load. I'd love a little zen like corner like this. I don't think I'd sit here though. No I'd stand just where the photographer has and muse or perhaps I'd just smile slightly as I rushed past on my way to work! Found in the portfolio of photographer Romain Ricard.

Lucy Harris

Here is a sample of some projects by New York City interior designer Lucy Harris. I appreciate her classy, somewhat minimal designs and how she keeps things edgy with bold photography as art, unexpected jolts of colour, and statement lighting.

MHouse Inc.

Modern yet approachable. Lighting porn to feed your addiction (ok, mine anyway). Toronto's Shirley Meisels' of MHouse Inc. kicks some serious interior design ass.

Bungalow 5 giveaway!

I am really excited to announce that we have a giveaway for you all running this week and the prize is pretty sweet! One of our sponsors, the lovely folks over at Bungalow 5, are offering THE LAMP OF YOUR CHOICE from their line of lighting! And you get a shade! And they will ship it to you for free! I went through their entire lamp selection and I guarantee there every room in your home could use that little extra OOMPF with one of their lamps. I can't decide which I like more - the classy Tao lamp? The glam Venice lamp? The mid-century Mariah lamp? The bold, Asian-style Leaf lamp? I am sure you can narrow down your choice to one that you just have to have. All you need to do to enter is to leave a comment on Bungalow 5's Instagram photo or their Facebook entry of the giveaway, including the lamp you would choose if you won. It's that simple. (Open to USA and Canada residents only, and the winner will be announced next Monday on Bungalow 5's FB and IG).

Here are some spaces that demonstrate just how much impact a fabulous lamp can have...
