Two grand old homes in Sydney, two gardens full of delight. One, an entertainer's garden, sits on the harbour's edge and has an almost Mediterranean feel with stone and whitewash. The other, a green escape, cascades down a steep slope with a hint of mysterious rainforest. Both beautiful, both inspiring, both by Bates Landscapes.

The downside of living inner city is often outdoor space is very limited. This Bondi, Sydney house has only the tiniest of backyards, more courtyard than wide open spaces. The owners had fallen in love with the unique architecture and energy of Marrakech on their travels and asked landscape architects Secret Gardens to create a little piece of their Morocco dream for them.
