Coming in from the garden

Last month I got your creative garden juices flowing with a stunning specimen garden by Eckersley Garden Architecture but all along there was the tease of the house beyond. Now it's time to come in from the garden and enjoy the contemporary garden pavilion that is an addition to the original Edwardian building. Bali escape

I had planned this virtual Bali escape for days then this morning I heard the news that flights to the Indonesian island had been suspended due to volcanic ash clouds off shore. Oh no! We were all going to be lolling by the pool by the time this post went live. Fortunately we aren't actually going. The volcano won't actually spoil our trip. This is a virtual getaway after all. We can still plunge in the pool, shower outdoors and languidly lounge on all those built-in benches. Welcome to your Tuesday escape ... Fella Villas.

Modern mid century

Obvious mid century roots have been enhanced by new profiles and a more contemporary line in this house by Sydney-based Nobbs Radford Architects. A sense of light and space is enhanced by soaring ceilings, light wells and voids. A galley kitchen harks back to the 60s but is a modern, fresh take with on point finishes. I'm smitten.
