A renovated apartment in Paris

I love European architecture and the wonderful classic apartments that I come across when doing blog research. This simple, modern 60m² apartment renovation in the eleventh arrondissement of Paris by Septembre Architecture pushes all the right buttons. Some marble and custom cabinetry in the kitchen, some brass and hex tiles in the bathroom, glass doors and beautiful moldings. The rooms of the apartment are aligned to optimize the circulation and create a visual continuity. The suite of spaces seems to extend to infinity with a large mirror at the back of the apartment. Each room has a specific floor treatment, weaving a true Jacquard weave between wooden floors, painted wooden floors, hexagonal mosaic and polished concrete. Working on a Saturday

Muted seaside hues, modern shapes inspired by beach cabanas and flooring reminiscent of traditional Provençal tiles form the basis for the interior of Marseille hair salon Le Coiffeur by Margaux Keller Design Studio in association with Bertrand Guillon Architecture. Once again it's my Saturday wish that if you have to drag your sorry self into work today it's somewhere as stylish as this.

An apartment of curiosities

This apartment in a 1930's building belongs to a couple (and their 2 children) who are antiquarians and gallery owners in Saint-Germain, Paris. They did not expect to live here for more than a couple of years because the space is only 700 square feet but the Parisian charm has kept them there 11 years so far. Their home is outfitted with antiques and items found on the street, making it so wonderfully eclectic. Via MilK Decoration magazine, photos: Brunet Souet.
