A home on rue de la Folie-Méricourt

This 250 m² residence on rue de la Folie-Méricourt in Paris is breathtaking. OH LAWD to have that much space! And all that light! And it be in PARIS! This is the creation of Cristiano Benzoni and Sophie Thuillier's firm, Rev Architecture

The table...the live edge table - I die for a live edge table. Wonder what the staying power will be of the whole live edge look...any thoughts on that? I'm tempted to get one, but I worry about tiring of it for some reason...

i think live edge is beautiful and organic - how can you ever tire of that? i feel the same way about harvest/reclaimed wood dining tables. they are never "out".

Ann, if you acquire something because you love it and not because it's trendy, it will always be beautiful to you. And that is what it's all about, right? I have a live edge coffee table I made from hairpin legs and a slab of redwood found at a beach in the 70's- still my favorite piece.

I have an old burl side table that's got a 'living edge' on the underneath of the table and simple bent black iron legs, it is from the 50's. I have looked at and loved that table the whole of my life and I never tire of it. It is a beautiful old piece, rich with history and memory. Maybe that living edge table will be that for you some day:)
