Cassandra Ellis
With a personal aesthetic of simplicity, warmth and beauty, New Zealand-born, London-based furniture and homewares designer Cassandra Ellis has created a home that mirrors her belief in quiet, unforced, graceful spaces. Her style and philosophy, the idea of home as a meditation on living, resonate so strongly with me.
Citrus punch
Something to kick start your working week. A little citrus punch. Hello yellow ... and hello piles of books. Don't thank me. Thank MARK + VIVI, an interdisciplinary design-build studio based in Montreal, Canada.
The home of Barbara Í Gongini
I have an unhealthy love of avant-garde clothing, most notably from 2 designers, one of them being Barbara Í Gongini (the other is Rick Owens). One day I discovered Femina had done a story on Barbara's home in Copenhagen and I was pleased to see her minimalist home was as stylish as her clothing. I love the simplicity of it, the contrast of black and white and the subtle textures and patterns.
Some stylish styling
Making a home photo-shoot-worthy and creating an open-house frenzy is what Los Angeles-based firm Prairie Design & Staging is all about. They know what sells and how to make a space look desirable. And it works, because I am seriously desiring this first kitchen right now. That dining nook is fantastic!
