The Girl with the Green Sofa

Nicola Broughton is a friend of mine on Instagram (@the_girl_with_the_green_sofa). She is a mum to 2 boys Jack and Alfie, lives in Yorkshire, England, is an Investment Director, is a lover of interior design and is now a blogger. And she is the Queen of Maximalism!!! Nicola loves art, wallpaper, colour, patterns, fake plants, refinishing furniture, dark walls, and her made.com green sofa. Her home is cozy, inviting, family-friendly, fun, functional and total eye-candy. Love her home and love her. Thanks so much for wanting to reciprocate the favour and share your home with my readers Nicola! (Check out her post on my home here).

The Grey House

Roger + Chris renovated a 160 year old Italianate Victorian home in Sharon Springs, NY and now call it the Grey House. This might just be one of the best renovations I have ever seen! The exterior is blowing my mind. I love a dark painted house. So dramatic! Also loving that they documented all of the projects on their site with before photos too so I included some so you get the full effect of the work that went into this transformation.

Bold patterns and colours

Making a bold statement in this gorgeous home in Paddington, Queensland designed by Claire Stevens. Opening the kitchen and living areas to the panoramic city view and recently landscaped garden, as well as reconfiguring circulation paths, increasing room size and maximising storage, were all significant aspects of transforming this recently built reproduction country cottage into an open plan home for a young family. Bespoke joinery is punctuated with a graphic black and white materials palette with walnut, brass and leather detailing adding a subtle sophistication to each space. The client’s eclectic style and affinity for colour and pattern is reflected in the wall and window coverings, light fittings, artwork and furnishings. The result is a home that is a playful juxtaposition between modern and traditional, colour and monochromatic, bold graphic patterns and delicate floral designs. Photos: Toby Scott. A historic home by Jenny Keenan

I am smitten with this home designed by Charleston, SC based Jenny Keenan. So colourful and bright and playful. Jenny's combination of incredible light fixtures, original artwork, patterned textiles and one of a kind decorative objects makes for a bold and unique space.
