Colours of India

I think it is really important to have your home reflect your personality and interests. The homeowner of this apartment is a world traveller and it is so meaningful and beautiful that her interior designer Peter Wilds incorporated her treasures brought back from travels in her space. Mixed in with a bit of mid-century modern and time-worn vintage pieces, it speaks volumes of the homeowner's love of colour (that pink wall is amazing!) and travel, particularly to India. Pattern and colour by Amie Corley

Interior designer Amie Corley of St. Louis, MO is all about creating drama with colour and pattern. Sometimes this can be overwhelming but she certainly knows how to show restraint and keep her designs classy and polished. And bonus points for the use of Farrow & Ball's Tessella wallpaper in the informal dining area which is fabulous with the wicker bistro chairs.

Colourful glamour in Madrid

It has been a very long and sweltering hot week and I am very grateful Friday is upon us! For me this weekend will be about bathroom renovation shopping (husband doesn't know this yet but I just typed it for all to read so I guess it has to happen now!), some personal house touring and photo taking for this year's Glebe House Tour (so excited!) and finishing up a house tour of my own for another blog (oh yeah!). A colourful home by Marta de la Rica

I love this home by Madrid-based interior designer Marta de la Rica. It's whimsical and colourful without going overboard, with lots of patterns (ikat!) in small doses without being too busy. Marta has a knack for designing spaces JUST RIGHT. And how freaking adorable is that pink/purple tufted sofa?!?!
