Another sweet London pad

The folks at Domus Nova (the London estate agency I blogged about here) kindly send over some photos of another of their properties. This time it's an incredible home in terms of it's architecture, with several glass walls and roofs. The central feature of the 4 bedroom property is a massive 2 story atrium with a glass bridge. I have to say the decor is not really something to write home about. I appreciate the global vibe but the main furnishings are pretty bland and really could be much funkier to blend with the cool, modern architectural details. That's ok though - the glass walls and roof sections are doing it for me.

LOVE!LOVE!LOVE!

Domus Nova is an independent estate agency in London with exceptionally fabulous properties for sale or rent. I was emailing the other day with someone who works for the company (thanking them for featuring our blog in their magazine they print a couple times a year) and begged for photos of a property I fell head over heels in love with that was featured on both their website and their magazine. It's a fabulous juxtaposition of classical architecture with contemporary and vintage furnishings. This 5 bedroom freehold townhouse located in Notting Hill is to die for, with bold colours and even bolder artwork throughout each space. It's "vibrant elegance" they call it has me utterly smitten. And for a cool £4,250,000 it can be yours! (I'll take it!!!)
P.S. I'm hoping to hit them up for more photos of other properties they have listed so stay tuned!

Can Never get enough of ... Graham Atkin-Hughes

New week new inspiration. After featuring Graham Atkin-Hughes location house last week it's time to dig into his portfolio. Kim and I have both sung his praises before but his website is jammed with juicy interiors, many more than our last visit. Think some of your favourite blog photos and chances are Graham is the snapper behind the lens. Nick Olsen's red lacquer pad, Rita Konig's home, Abigail Ahern and The Brooklyn Home Company's fabulous white dream of a house. Graham is the photographer that brought those rooms to life through his lens. His work is one moment moody and intimate and at others exuberant and in your face. How sexy is the OTT bohemian vintage home with the touches of red? Clutter yes but never boring! One of my favourite photographers!

McLean Quinlan Architects

"We take a holistic approach to each project and, with sustainability always in mind, we consider the building, landscape, function and interior design and employ careful use of scale, proportion and detail to create houses that delight. We love what we do and particularly projects that offer opportunities for designing finely crafted modern buildings in stunning surroundings ... " and it shows. These buildings have soul, have personality, are exquisite. I'm in love with the work of McLean Quinlan Architects. You too?

A renovated Victorian

I'm taking the easy way out today as it's my first day back at work and I'm still pooped from the hoopla of the past week. So here is another home from my new favourite site, Period Living. Lynda and Peter Thomas bought a Victorian semi-detached house in Essex (a county in the East of England region of the UK) in 2004 and when the one next door went up for sale they snatched it up so they could create one detached home. Apart from the exterior walls, almost everything was redone to make it more of an open concept. I adore all of the vintage furnishings they have amassed and the casual and not-so-country vibe they have created. My favourite touch is the collection of bejewelled chandeliers over the dining table. (Photos by Brent Darby).
