I'm a sucker for adaptive re-use and warehouse conversions are high on my list of design lusts. I'm head over heels for this renovation by Melbourne-based bg architecture. The exposed brick walls, the art, the light flooding in through the internal courtyard. Perfect.
Slick brick, textured minimalism, an emphasis on construction, on materials, on details. Raw and rough becoming more sophisticated, smoother as you progress through this prewar loft in NYC’s Greenwich Village. By Raad.
I came across this apartment by São Paulo architecture firm Tavares Duayer because BLACK, BRICK, CONCRETE, SUBWAY TILES...all of which results in a really cool industrial, masculine-vibe space. The black windows and doors are a nice touch too. The decor is well done too, but I would change out the light fixtures everywhere but the enamel kitchen pendants.
I love everything about this kitchen. The white painted brick wall, the matte black lower cabinets with white countertop (I despise my black quartz counters - I would totally swap for this combo), the display shelving running along the top instead of uppers and how they cut into the wall of cabinetry, the island blending into the floor....it's incredible. The only thing I would have maybe done was hang some simple lighting over the island. Another successful project by la SHED.
