It has been a few years since we shared some work by São Paulo, Brasil-based interior designer Guilherme Torres. The MX House he designed in 2015 is typical of his style - funky, modern, colourful, and a ton of fun. That tufted massive leather sofa is killing me right now. *SWOON*
The fishing village of Trancoso on Brazil's Costa del Descubrimiento may have started as a hippie hideaway but it's now the super trendy vacation spot. As many of our Northern Hemisphere readers have been trapped in the freezing gloom of winter I thought I'd take us all on a virtual getaway to the boho chic vacation home, Casa Tiba. I can feel the warm breeze as I lie by the pool and know that the cool, stylish interiors are only a few steps away.
Sisters Maria Paula and Maria Claudia Brasil of São Paulo design firm Maria Brasil Arquitetura have set out to create funky, modern, eclectic spaces by using some fun colours, artwork and patterns. They even manage to make a pink kitchen look cool!
Sorry that should read "apartment" not "jungle". What is it about Brazilian design that brings a smile to my face? The honesty, the simplicity, the sense of everyday style, the joy? I think I would feel right at home here and the abundance of indoor plants is only just a part of the reason.
