Dude-friendly design by Anthony George

I am not exactly sure what is that dude-friendly about these spaces but that is what designer Anthony George is calling it, so ok then. Whatever you want to call it, I'm really loving this colour scheme. Rich colours that work well in summer and winter. (photos: Brittany Ambridge)

A brightly coloured condo by Brio Interior Design

I am completely smitten with this Seattle apartment designed by Brio Interior Design. Such fun bright colours in unique conbinations and a midcentury vibe. The clients of this newly built high rise unit only had a few requests when hiring brio interior design to complete the bare bones, empty interior from scratch. The palette should include green and ivory, the art should be local, the sofa must be “nap-able” and there must be a king size bed in the owner’s suite with an upholstered headboard. We chose to infuse the sterile interior with bold color, lush texture, one of a kind custom furnishings and plenty of velvet. The space features artwork by locals including Deanne Belinoff and Paul Edmondson as well as the fine craftsmanship of local woodworkers and furniture makers who built the custom sofa, wall bed/desk, headboard and living room built-ins right here in lovely Seattle. Hernandez Greene

Katrina Hernandez and Joshua Greene both had careers in the fashion industry before transitioning to interior design, opening their own firm Hernandez Greene in 2014. It would be cheesy to say that their rooms are "well dressed" but in fact they are. Well considered, well balanced, almost classic but with an edge, a bold use of colour in an otherwise traditional room or a statement piece of room "jewellery". Chic and sophisticated, stylish and impeccably tailored like this West Hollywood hacienda from their impressive portfolio.
