I really love this home in Toluca Lake, LA designed by Barbie Palomino. It is eclectic with bits of drama including unique wall art, accent colours used in rugs and textiles, gallery walls and some black. And featuring an adorable little pooch for added awesomeness.
The drama of black and white, dark and light, always captivates me. These spaces by McAlpine are about as fabulous as it gets.
As seen in my last post on designer Jenn Feldman's style, this talented lady and her team seem to have a thing for bold, modern art in modern settings. This new Palm Springs project is yet another example of this. It is bold and makes a real statement. I must point out that I am totally crushing on that banquette dining area.
Loving this apartment in the New Orleans French Quarter designed by Ty Larkins, perfect for a young bachelor lawyer who happens to be a traditionalist. The client initially asked us to decorate his apartment with antiques and pieces with history. Luckily, we convinced the client he needed to mix in modern furnishings and artwork into the overall design because we believe there is nothing more staid than an old house filled exclusively with old furniture. The resulting environment is traditional space designed with a modern sensibility where French antiques are mixed with just the right dose of modern pieces coupled with a decidedly masculine color palette creating bold contrast and interest.
Bentley Hagen Hall is the U.K.-based architectural and interior design practice of Louis Hagen Hall and Catherine Verna Bentley, and this is their London home. It may be compact but it's loaded with bohemian, mid-century style and is an absolute delight to the eyes. Photos: India Hobson.
