Camille Hermand Architectures

A sweet little piece of Parisian architectural candy. Ornate touches to the ceilings, old wooden floors and scrolly iron work on the balcony. Beautiful bones juxtaposed with midcentury and modern. Then bam! Colourful riot on the wall. A little pastille of perfection by Camille Hermande Architectures.

Stalking in Sweden

I'm stalking on a Saturday but not on my home turf. I'm stalking a rather special apartment in Stockholm. Two floors of contemporary style meets old world charm, sleek chic meets aged natural finishes. It's the home of Filippa Knutsson designed by Bjorn and Marianne Aaro of Aaro Architects. Swoon. Old dark timbers and new Dinesen oak floors, white walls and dark trim. I'd keep it just the way it is. A perfect marriage of modern and an earthy ethnic vibe. Sadly for us all it is no longer available but you'll find the link here while it lasts.

Patrice Bastian and Laetitia Schlumberger and Freude von Freunden

Just like friends of friends. People you get to know but don't really know ... if you know what I mean. Once again one of our friends from Freunde von Freunden have shared a few images from their latest interview and home and office tour. Patrice Bastian, creative director and architect, and Laetitia Schlumberger, fashion designer. An amazing house in the 10th arrondisement, Paris and an intiguing story of creative ideas and lasting love found in China. Just a tease here on Desire to Inspire. You'll have to pop over to Freunde von Freunden to discover more. Photography by Fred Lahache. Story by Léa Munsch.

Warehouse wonder

I love a warehouse refurb and today I have two. One a condo with history and loads of style. The other a commercial space with history and loads of style. But they have more than that in common. They are both designs by Jessica Helgerson. I can put my hand on my heart and say there is not a thing I would change. Lofty praise indeed. Oooooh did I just say that!

P.S. Photography by Lincoln Barbour.

I wish

I wish I could live in this New York apartment. I wish I could be clean and tidy. I wish my fat labrador didn't shed hair, that my blind husband didn't drag dirty fingers along walls as he walks through the space, that I always manage to spill a drop or two of my coffee as I traverse the kitchen. I wish I could live in this white wonderland. White walls, white floors, white and light furniture. I wish that powder room was mine. I could live happily just in that powder room. I wish I didn't shed hair like my dog. I wish I had a cleaning lady. I wish I lived in this New York apartment.  Sigh ... I wish. By Resolution: 4 Architecture.
