Target Living

Since starting this blog, one of my favourite design teams I've come across is Target Living. I posted about them here and here, but there are still so many photos of their phenomenal designs on their website that I had to do another post on this UK design duo of Tara Bernerd and Thomas Griem. Their style is modern, bold and rockin', and I dig it. Alot.

Cat and chair

Beautiful image of cat and equally beautiful chair from the portfolio of fabulous photographer Tria Giovan. Anyone with other pets on furniture? Terrapin on Tulip chair? Parrot on papasan?

A yen for zen

Another amazing property for sale in my home town. We spend so much of our time living outdoors here and this artist's house pushes the envelope between inside and out. The sleeping pavilion would be the most mystical place to sleep in our hot summer nights and when the weather is inclement then there's always the inside. A modern take on classic asian design.

Stephen Miller Siegel

Modern timeless classic. So says the website of New York architect and interior designer Stephen Miller Siegal. Muted colours and unusual textures are trade marks but there is a lot to learn from the details here. A platter of beautifully aligned green apples mirrors a ficus in an otherwise neutral room. Texture enriches dark brooding rooms. Art work is massed in carefully curated groups. These rooms invoke salons and libraries and formal dining rooms. Modern timeless and classic.

Sucker for cats

I am so glad we've been getting some cat photos lately. Dubbed the "crazy cat lady", I was feeling a bit guilty for not plugging cats much. So thanks to Melissa of dsine&dsaster and Alyson for their contributions. The first is Melissa's photo of her rescued (from a Wal Mart parking lot) cat William (love the lamp!) and the others are Alyson's Persians Miles and Snickers. They're so cute I just want to squish them. I have a soft spot for Persians. One of my sisters has one that I rescued from the Humane Society a few years ago. Grumpiest cat on the planet. Love the little bastard. Anyhoo....here's their photos:
