Our dilemma

Help! We have a dilemma with the reader's dilemma posts. They are proving so popular that we are swamped with emails (20 in the last 2 days alone). Kim and I love hunting for images to inspire you but we just can't do a post on every dilemma. There would be no room left for all the amazing, wonderful, super talented designers, photographers and stylists we present every day. We still want to help so we may just have to limit it to one or two posts a week. Hope you guys understand because we feel so bad not being able to focus on all the problems. We'll randomly choose a reader's request each week and promise to find inspiring solutions for you. In the mean time don't forget to use the labels as a search tool or our search box. Thanks for your understanding. I'll be back soon with today's WINKS.

Chandeliers to inspire

Emily of New York City wrote us looking for chandelier inspiration:"I was wondering if you had a collection of chandelier photos, specifically funky, alternative or painted. I may be moving to an apartment with boring, gold chandeliers and fancied painting them, but need some inspiration!". My first thought is if you don't like the light fixtures, then replace them (either with cheap ones you don't mind leaving there when you move out, or save the existing ones in the back of a closet to put back up). But if you're serious about going the DIY route, then hopefully the following photos will get your creative juices flowing. It's got me thinking of what to do with the 3 ceiling fans (gross!!) in my house (although 2 of them aren't wired to a switch in the wall so I need fixtures that turn on and off from the light itself - UGH).

ZK

Can I say I've died and gone to heaven? I wish I could because heaven would be this stunning apartment designed by ZK. Who are ZK? They are the stylish, the elegant the oh so hip design duo Cara Zolot and Elizabeth Kohn. Their young and creative take on the tradition of symmetry and traditional design takes this apartment to the next level. I'm clammering for more but at the moment this is the only project on their website but more are promised. I'll be checking back regularly. I need another fix!

Elle Decoration South African style

I LOVE shelter magazines, and I realized last night that we've never plugged Elle Decoration SA's blog before. I adore Elle Decoration (British and French versions) and would love to get my hands on a copy of a South African version. They showcase fabulous eclectic homes and I found the following photos of such homes on their blog, which, what do you know, is also fabulous (and co-written by Heather Moore of Skinny Laminx).
