Good design, plain and simple. Time for an encore appearance by Melbourne based builder designers Altereco. This Barwon Heads house is open plan with crisp, modern lines, a restrained colour palette and materials. Simple yes. Stylish definitely.

It's that time of the week. Time to stalk the leftovers, the ones that made the cut then didn't because I hummed and hawed and changed my mind. Why? I'm very fussy. Call me particular, finicky, choosy and hard to please. Not quite right, bad photos, I need more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable or no furniture at all! Can't quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding "yes". This week's finds include a couple of 70s gems just waiting for a second chance including one with a velour ceiling, my usual smattering of tiny terrace houses and, because it is winter here, outdoor spaces to remind me of summer. New house possession day is coming up very soon and last night we finalized our new mortgage, so I am now accepting donations.....just kidding. :-) I have a weekend of packing ahead of me so hopefully you all have more exciting things happening. It has been ages since we last featured LA interior designer Mark Cutler (the last time it was this sweet beachfront pad) and the other day he sent us some photos from a couple of his latest projects. Always fabulous - I am lusting after the dining chairs above, and the étagère in the 6th photo. I must mention that Mark also has a new venture recently launched called nousDECOR - a start-to-finish solution for anyone decorating a space.
