Behind closed doors

A 27sqm studio apartment in Sydney’s Woolloomooloo. Small in size, modest, low in cost. Big in style, clever spatial solutions. Inner city living for the one person family. Growing in numbers and a growing need for good affordable design. The Studio by Nicholas Gurney, shortlisted for the 2013 Australian Interior Design Awards.

Where is the lounge & TV?. First thing that I want to do when I get home from work is lounge around.

♥ this funny and clever apartment.
But considering the windows, it seems that the outside view doesn't match with the inside pictures ...

Living in Woolloomooloo the city is your lounge room. And a whole lot of people don't watch tv on TVA anymore.

Great use of space & colour.

That is so impractically cool. I wouldn't mind being a family of one somedays. xx

The whole design is very practical. I love it! You used the space very wisely and the bright colors made the room really attractive. Brilliant concept!

Sleek, smart, sophisticated. Would have liked to see the bathroom, which (I speak from experience) is often the weak point in small flats -- it's too tempting to try squeezing a half-size tub into a tiny space, and the result usually feels cramped and unattractive.

Marie, perhaps the presence of an bike and the image of a svelte, healthy looking 20 year old should give you the hint that he hasn't yet got to the point where all he wants to do is come home and flop on the sofa in front of the tv, eat three bags of crisps and drink 4 litres of "diet" coke !

It would be great to see the bathroom.

And what's it worth ? Knowing Sydney, probably about 700000 !! hahaha. My garage is bigger than 27m2 and has a better view.
