The definition of eclectic

My previous post talked about a mix of styles. I found another home in keeping with that idea. This one is furnished from elements all over the world - a German chair, a Chinese stool, Balinese artifacts, a Provençal table mixed with Bertoia side chairs, even my favourite - Moroccan beni ourain rugs. Mikel Irastorza, the interior designer, has some rather large kahounas. :-) (Via Nuevo Estilo)

I love the kitchen! And those hanging black lamps are to die for! However, I'm not too crazy about the mint colored walls, they say hospital to me

that's what I call eclectic! Nice mix of understated base and the right amount of over the top accessories. And the colour palette is stunning! Great choice!

I love how well the living room is divided and how beautifully grouped the collection of vases are displayed.

Love it! Eclectic is where it's at...it gives the space a soul. And are those Bertoia chairs I spot in the living room? Amazing. This is how I want my house to look!

This is the most beautiful home I've ever seen on this site full of beautiful homes! I'm a big, big fan. Eclectic = evergreen stylishness and an eternally transformable vision.

That living space is just stunning! Nothing is too 'fussy', clean lines and the bright white walls let each piece speak. Great inspiration!

When you like a variety of styles, eclectic is definitely the way to go. Melding them perfectly is the hard part, however, and this interior did not skip a beat - it's flawless. The attention to detail is impeccable. My favorite features are the oversized pendant lights, clean-lined kitchen, floor-to-ceiling bookcase, and curtain panel in the bedroom. Beautiful!

It all looks great, but I'm struck by how well the stark-white walls showcase all the elements. Fantastic!

amazing home! so many different pieces and so matching!

was just talking to a friend of mine the other day - she suggested removing the sofa in our living room. having the chaises wouldn't work for us, but they are gorgeous! and i would love it if my dining room looked like that!

Any idea how much the provincial table is worth? I ran across a VERY similar one recently, My husband drug his feet on it, though. A good reason to give him a big fat "told you so" would be highly appreciated. Thank you!!!
