Airstream dreams

Can a girl go weak at the knees over a caravan? Oh please! This ain't no caravan. She's a sleek and shiny 70s era Airstream. This baby was lovingly restored by Santa Barbara architect Matthew Hofmann. She's small, efficient, renovated with recycled and sustainable materials and is the live + work space for Matthew and his girlfriend. But most importantly she is sexy! Alas she wasn't always this hot. More like hot mess as you will see after the jump.

Though I'm not at all into caravans of any kind...this is some restoration!! commendable!! xx meenal

He did an outstanding job with creating clean lines and furnishings to go with the sleek style. I love the details that he added to suit a current lifestyle (as opposed to creating a period look). Well done!

Could I have one ...please? Oh what fun we could have, me, hubby and our boys (furry, four-legged kids) traveling throughout the land. Oh wait a minute...we couldn't afford the gas. Well, we could park it in back and daydream about traveling. Could I still have one...please? Thank you! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Oh my! What a coincidence. Just yesterday, my husband and were driving to get lunch when a car with an Airstream in tow passed us. I begged (again) to get one as this is my only choice for a caravan. I promised my husband that if he gets me one, I would not obsessively make it shine every day.. :-) This is one great transformation. Another airstream I drool over is the Limited Victorinox Airstream. Ah well.. Thanks for this post though.

Love this, but would hate to get stuck behind it on the highway with the midday sun on it. BLIND.
