Look what a little blood, sweat and tears can get you
The other day we received the following email from Jennifer: As a long time follower of your blog, I know you do real estate stalkings. This is my home that I just finished restoring last year. It was built in 1917, nothing had been done to it, well I think, ever!!. It was scheduled for demolition when we bought it. Completely dilapidated, falling over....It took us almost 2 years to renovate it. The tears, the joy, the work....ugh...but the end product I am pretty proud of. We have just put it on the market today and I would love it if you would post some photos or the link! Any of your followers up for a move to Texas??? Now, it takes alot for me to be rendered speechless when it comes to interiors. This one did just that. And when I came to I made my husband come over to my laptop and showed him each and every photo while gasping and pointing. I'm not sure what I'm more shocked about - that this house was supposed to be levelled or that Jen is selling it. (Although she says they just finished one across the street and will send photos when they're moved in and have it all decked out - can't wait!). Listing link HERE.

STUNNING! I would gladly move in there tomorrow and be happy forevermore!
it seems like a place that one could really BREATHE in. Ahhhhh.
It is lovely! xx meenal
OMG - I wish this house was down in Austin, because I would BUY it!
I am going home to paint everything in my home white....I just love how warm and cozy all the white surfaces look in this home!! Stunning!
It is sublime!
Ha! you can see the original on google street view - link. What a great job!
So many wonderful ideas - and they have kept the original charm. These are house wizards.
Fabulous! The walls in the master bedroom, the sinks for each bath... such good choices!
I have the same Bob Dylan poster as they do (photo 4)! I love how it looks in their gorgeous living room.
Beautiful - I'd never leave that Le Cornu range! Installing one of those would be a dream come true for me, but, alas, can't afford the price tag.
I am just loving this place...wow!! I love the juxtaposition of the vintage interior with the modern clean lined pool on the exterior! Amazing place!
what a dreamy place! jennifer you have great taste and an amazing eye. you must feel so good about your results. i dream of being able to dive into a project like that.
the pegboard in the boy's room is fantastic!
clearly i'm the only one who thinks meh...
i love the tile in the shower and i love the white painted floors which i'm assuming are the original floorboards but i just can't get past the practicality of them.
and while i love a white kitchen it's just all too much white for me.
a matter of taste, is all, it's clearly not lacking in talent or design
though can we please drop the Buddah now? unless you are an actual practicing Buddhist which i suppose they could be. i just think it is so overdone.
I am not the biggest fan of Texas (the weather is not for me) but I would totally move there for this house!
so much hard work and really beautiful choices throughout--so consistent and surprising at the same time. the white floors make my practical side crazy tho.
First Texas house I've ever liked.
OMG-- I love how they smashed the pool into that teeny area!! Just goes to show you, you can put anything anywhere with enough imagination! (I would like to see the pictures without the weird "stretchy" thing that real estate pics do--I've been to enough showings to know these pics are misleading. but all that aside-- a wonderful reno! Hope the market there will bear the huge amounts of money pumped into this one!
This is a really impressive renovation. Though the house needs a lot more color, IMO, it is brilliantly staged. I do wonder if that listing price is wildly inappropriate for that area, judging from what I see in street view, and comparing this listing to others in the area?? I know this property/ house is very special and unique, but the lot is tiny and it appears one can get much more for their money elsewhere in McKinney. I do very much hope, though, that the right buyer comes along and appreciates all the amazing work done to this charming home.
This is absolutely stunning !!!! I don't think I would have been able to move from something so lovely .
Amazing! Love it!! She decorates just like I do! Now all I need is how to get in touch with the person that did the renovation. You see I am from San Antonio Texas and planning to move back home soon. Would love to pick her/his brain! Will be redoing my mothers cottage on 2 acres in Helotes, Texas and building another hom on the property.
......and if my husband gets this position he is looking at in Dallas would actually like to purchase this! Please refer her/him to me! www.sweetharvestfarms.com. Thanks!
I love this house with its design and furnishing..I would move in directly..;-)..but I'm so far away from Texas (Germany!).
Amazing!!!!
