Oz-glam by Greg Natale
Last week I had to hurriedly pull down this post. Why? Because the house made the cover of Belle magazine and its designer needed to keep it under wraps for just a few more days. The issue is out today and now we can all see why Greg Natale is one of this country's hottest designers. Thanks again Greg for sharing ... last week and this week!
I hope you didn't think glam was dead. Not when this harbour side Sydney home is packed with Oz-glam chic. Interior designer Greg Natale has proven again that he knows how to mix Hollywood Regency with a laidback Australian vibe (who ever thought that concrete breeze block could look so good?!). This home is no showroom vignette though. It's real living for a real family. Mind you we don't all have that fabulous Balmain harbour view! Recently on the cover of (inside) a little birdie tells me it is in the next it has now made the cover of Belle. Thanks Greg for sending all the pictures and congrats to photographer Anson Smart for the fabulous shots. So much more after the jump!

This place is great - works really well for Sydney climate and style doesn't it. And those rugs I think are probably by him for Designer Rugs?
Wow. It certainly does make one view the concrete breezeway in a new light. Love it.
I love Greg's over the top glam style and love that he has paired it with the humble decorative concrete block. I've always adored breeze blocks I did a post on them ages ago after I stumbled upon this site in Las Vegas where this guy has cataloged all the different patterns of blocks - now he really loves breeze blocks ;) Then I found someone still makes them here, so I plan to use them in our next home. Gorgeous home!
Wow! I love the gold bathroom - very luxurious, very glam!
i can't even handle this right now!
i LOVE the bedrooms and the second bathroom. i ESPECIALLY love the zebra in the 4th photo. SO cute!
wowowowwow the golden bathroom really looks luxurious, like living in a sheikh's palace perhaps!
Hi Jane
The rugs you are thinking are actaully by Jonathan Adler. The Zebra rug is from Designer Rugs. If you are wonderinng why I didnt use my own range. My range wasnt out yet when ordered the rugs for this poject.
nice decor. magazine looks very much like a homage to elle decor both in style and sound
Just picked up my copy today and I must say that this is my favourite house in it. So glamorous, so colourful.
Does anyone know where in the Brisbane area I could find the letter pillows that are shown in the first bedroom shot? I've seen them before but can't remember where!
Oh my...I would like to wake up in a place like this...
Please Belle I beg of you - START A WEBSITE. I fell in love with your magazine when I lived in NZ and am experiencing severe withdrawals Stateside.
Really beautiful. I wonder if belle magazine is available in the US? I will look for it today at Barnes and Noble. Great post. xoxo
Thank you so much for posting this. It is absolutely perfect in every way!
Dream house!
Does anyone know where I can get that fabulous blue barrel chair in the first few images?
Swoon! wow... this is absolutely incredible! Greg Natal is a genius in his own right, totally in love with this home!!
WOW! What a kitchen - so sophisticated.
I'm going to be candid here ..... it pops, it's pleasing to look at, every room is different but well-coordinated with the core theme, however I don't think it's better than what numerous other talented designers would do.
I love the color combinations of the interiors and the fact that the style of every single room is different. Some of the decorations (such as zebra and big horse head) looks quite weird and doesn't fit to the overall interior design but the variety of the styles makes it a very nice home.
so tired of Hollywood Regency. Esp. such literal cliche renditions of it. Was Jonathan Adler the only store in town?
STUNNING...I can't get over how nice that black & white rug is..where is it from ??
There are no words... absolutely stunning!!
Has anyone seen the work of Jonathon Adler in his book "MY PRESCRIPTION FOR ANTI-DEPRESSIVE LIVING" ? They would realise Greg has basically copied Mr. Adler's very distinctive and very original style. I don't want to rain on Mr. Natale's parade but the rugs, lamps, bed styling, cushions, horse head, chinese dog ceramics, wallpapers, mirrors, wall decorations, the breeze block wall ala the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs that Jonathon Adler did etc. etc., are all available to buy from his site. And how is this Oz Glam when the whole concept is created by a Jewish boy from New York - because the house is in Balmain, Sydney? If Jonathon Adler would open in Oz we all too could have a house that looked like this without an interior designer.
Why is it that people who leave negative comments never leave their email or URL? :) At least I can see by their IP addresses that they aren't the same person which is often the calling card of negative responses. Lighten up guys! Greg has the cover after all :) But thanks for your comments none the less.
