Stalking two for one
Behind this beautifully restored Edwardian facade is a house with two personalities. There is little to forewarn you as you stalk on by this Hawthorn, Melbourne home. Through a purple door the original rooms of the house give a hint at an owner who, while respecting the past, embraces modern design ... the chairs, a light here and there, the colours. But then as you break through to the rear of the house a second home awaits you. Clever and contemporary, sleekly modern and definitely 21st century. But wait there's more! The garden. OMG the garden! Did I say two for one? Make that three! If you need to ask the price you cannot of course afford it. It even has it's own website for the sale and definitely more after the jump.

Amazing! Oh, how I would love to live here... the purple door, the stained glass, the bay windows (and that kitchen!).
Wow! Totally awesome!
Love the dining room chairs and stools in the kitchen.
That looks absolutely stunning and amazing!!Wonder I had one.
Hawthorn (no e) is such a lovely suburb too but this house is just amazing!
All fixed Kristy :) Force of habit because it's Hawthorne, Brisbane and I guess I've been entering it too many times in realestate.com.au in my never ending search for a house to buy here!
Wow. I think every room has a serious WOW effect.
Wow! What a contrast of traditional and modern, and so lovely. It is like a fairytale.
It looks like a Hobbit hole from the outside. I kind of wish they would have decorated it in that fashion!
That is just perfection

wow, what a surprise! THE GARDEN... I love the levels and those big honkin' boulders! When I saw the picture of the front I was NOT expecting anything like what this offers.
The house facade is very Thomas Kincaide, painter of light. Hilarious!
