Brandon Barré

What a pleasure it was to receive an email from Brandon Barré, a photographer from Toronto, who thought we might want to share his photography with our readers. Since his work is the SHIZNIT, I was stoked to devour his newly updated web portfolio and scoop up my favourites. Some of the spaces may be familar to those who watch a design TV show or two. Candice Olson and Colin and Justin are among his clients! (And stay tuned Monday for his entries to the Pets on Furniture post!)

Wow those colours are incredible - so vivid they pop right out!

Your blog inspires me more than any other interiors-based blog. I love scrolling down the page and gasping 'wow' at every picture.

Amazing photos aren't they! Brandon's work has such a clarity about it. Maybe it's the depth of field or the lighting he uses but the rooms pop. Real attention getters. But I guess they have to be considering the "wallflowers" he works with :)

Sorry, these rooms are over-designed, too colour coordinated and well, ugly, for you to be serious. The photographer may be OK but he needs to refine his choice of subject. Even Ivan couldn't make these spaces work!

OMG you just totally dissed Candice and Colin and Justin. SHAME ON YOU Denise!

I'm not feeling quite as harsh as Denise, but the one-note color, while unusual and interesting for a single room, loses its impact as room after room unfolds. Or maybe it's that the impact progresses geometrically? Less of this meme is definitely more -- the space that has any chance of attracting me is the the most muted -- the green kitchen. I like that wood becomes a color, and the photography is excellent... and I'm really glad I wasn't the first to diss... but I'd run screaming.

Can I please have every one of these rooms decorated in my house???? Or really just one of these in my house would be great, hehe. We're renovating our basement right now so this is uber great inspiration. Thanks for sharing!!

The first few rooms may be over designed and not to everyones taste. You would probably only want one wow room like that in your house. But the rest of the rooms are beautiful and the photography sublime.

Absolutely spectacular!!! So great to see such bold exciting color (especially this time of year!). I for one, am so over "North American Neutral" as the default color scheme for virtually everything. Went to Brandon Barre's website (http://www.brandonbarre.com) and there are lots more equally unique and inspiring room images in his portfolio. Thanks for this one. What a find!

Igor: Just checked the site: http://www.brandonbarre.com. Works just fine. Probably had too many hits or something and the server shut down for a while. (Great interior photos - gotta check them out...)
