i love them all! i'm determined to have a chalk wall, cabinet or board somewhere in my kitchen.
like this element in photos, but would feel like i live in a cafe if this was in my home.
I totally loooove chalkboard paint, there is sooo much you can do with it!!! I have posted about this too. Great selection of images! very inspiring :) happy weekend!!!
I've wanted to do chalkboard paint for years but everyone always tries to dissuade me. This confirms its undying greatness. And BTW, the photo fifth from the bottom, which shows a chalkboard apartment door, shows a Stockholm apartment which used to be all white - I have a photo of that same chalkboard door in the Sept Elle Decor, 2001, which I (badly) photographed, back when I first started to hanker for a chalkboard wall! It's here (sorry for the distortion):

You're right Lindsay, that does look like the same door. And you SO should do a chalkboard somewhere. Except I don't think I'd ever do it on a door - particularly a main entrance door. I tend to carry armloads of groceries in the house and shove the door closed with my shoulder - that would mean I'd get chalk all over me.
Kim - I am loving this series you are doing on various color walls.
Thanks Peggy. I strayed from our usual posts due to my lack of energy this week - these are all from my existing photo stash.
I LOVE the idea of chalkboards in the house...especially in the kitchen or before you leave the house. There are a million colours you can buy and you can mix your own in whatever way you want...there's also magnetic paint that you could paint underneath! So cool. You can tell I'm really excited about this, haha. =) Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
i actually bought some chalkboard paint and sanded down our fridge, painted it with chalkboard paint, and our daughter is enamored! :)it's just at her level and somewhere she always is, (in the kitchen!) got the idea via apt therapy:

we used black chalkboard paint though to match our appliances. cheers! i LOVE your BLOG!!!!!!!!!!

devon spec
OH - great idea devon spec! especially if you have a crappy looking fridge. and what a brilliant way to keep a kid entertained while you're cooking!
It doesn't have to be black...
In the Netherlands, you can buy blackboard paint in any kind you like. It's called 'schoolbordenverf', e.g. from Histor: http://www.histor.nl/nl/producten/decoratief/schoolbordenverf/
Sorry, I meant in any COLOR you like...
Love the chalkboard border in one pic. Does anyone know where I can find an affordable chalkboard wall border?
Thanks :)
tastelifetwice - just paint a border. Will cost about $7 for a small can of paint.
Kim,
You're right - I wouldn't do it on a door, either. I know it's all the chalk dust that most people object to, but I think it would be worth it. Maybe one of the best places for chalkboard paint is a wall that generally gets dirty/scuffed anyway - the wall won't ever show the dirt again, and also I think that paint is quite washable, isn't it? Great for kids. And adults.
Blackboard furniture & walls? This goes straight into my "must have in my house someday" notebook.
I am CRAZY about CHALKBOARD walls!!
We already have a large chalkboard in our kitchen but I've always wanted an entire wall....cool post.

i really love the first one from Bo Bedre. That's definitely some inspiration for our desk-space!!
this roundup makes me so happy! I'm going to love chalkboard paint even if it goes out of style (and won't tire of it like I'm tiring of the woodland animal motif!)
good post
cool posting
