Where's the retro?!

I know, I know. I'm a little late with your retro fix this week. In honour of Kim who is up to her armpits in last minute jobs before she puts her house on the market I've scanned some fabulous retro chair porn. Once again from the indispensable The Practical Encyclopedia of Good Decorating and Home Improvement, Vol 8, Greystone Press, New York, 1971.

Am I the only one that dislikes the suddenly common use of the word porn for the non-pornographic? I guess all my negative associations for porn class with positive decorating associations. I'd love to hear other people's thoughts?

I disagree with ya, anon female. I wouldn't say porn is negative, so I have no problems using the term. It grabs your attention. Instead of "lotsa chairs" or "chairs that make you go ohhhhhh" it's "chair porn". :)

I love that armoire too jo-anne. Except I'd add a bit of colour to a few of the flowers. I sadly turned down the opportunity to purchase a chair like the one in that photo, but some of my cats seem to think wicker makes a great scratching post.

It's amazing just how no matter things change they also stay the same. Love the retro dosage :)
